Blogs, twitter, etc.: social networks for a better dialogue
Social media changes the way businesses communicate. For Kreissparkasse Augsburg, social networks are an opportunity to complement its already open, personal and flexible dialogue with the public. candid as the local financial services provider’s external press office provided suggestions for the efficient use of social media in the context of the strategic corporate communications, implemented measures accordingly and ensures a continual news flow across all channels.
What started as an experiment has continually developed since the beginning of 2009. In the beginning there was a construction site blog, documenting the reconstruction of the customer service center at Martin-Luther-Platz. Shortly after, regular news broadcasts via twitter, which is fed by people from several Kreissparkasse divisions, complemented the blog. Finally, Kreissparkasse offers its own personal view with the online photoalbum flickr.
Currently, the majority of site visitors do not take the opportunity for a dialog via communications channels far off the trodden paths. However, Kreissparkasse Augsburg still wants to continue with the “social media experiment”, as one step of many on the way to a continual and personal dialog with employees, customers, journalists and the interested public.
